  • Elementary students may walk halls by fall 2009

    (Published July 03, 2008) A groundbreaking ceremony was held Monday at a new Clover elementary school that officials say will change the way grades are split up in the district.

    The new elementary school, located on Highway 321, will fit 750 students into a space that is about 11,000 square-feet larger than any other elementary school in Clover.

    With the extra space, fifth graders will move back to the elementary level, and sixth-through eighth-graders will occupy a middle school that's still under construction on Oakridge Road.

(Published July 03, 2008) YORK -- York police arrested a 48-year-old woman this week after they say she gunned down another woman at Cedar Terrace Apartments.

Margie Smith West of York was charged with murder and possession of a firearm in the commission of a violent crime. Authorities say she shot 54-year-old Pamela Caines of Rock Hill three times Monday evening at West's apartment.
